| Chimp 2 | Pictures please Hi I have a Salvo 9 amp 24W HID. God, that was fun. I'm gonna type that again. I have a Salvo 9 amp 24 W HID. Bear with me, this could take some time. mmmmm, shiny. mmmmm, bright [SLAP] eh? what? Oh yes, sorry. Anyway, I would like to see a picture of how you attach a boltsnap to the back end of the torch as if I attach it to the metal bolt, which seems the only sensible place to be taking the weight of the torch, the knot will then surely slide off and then up the cable as there is nothing to grip the line. help! cheers! an image or two of how yours are configured would be terrific

| Resident purveyor of shiney kit.... | Ah well, now there's a thing. You might want to have look at John Kendalls post about Lampheads earlier today, it appears we may all be Doing it Wrong now. The recommended way of clipping off lights has changed it appears. Updates from GUE - Lampheads Don't know if that helps ? Congrats on the new baby btw. Luuuurrrrrrrverly ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Mmmmmm Salvo..... ![]() On mine I've got a boltsnap attached on the RHS of the goodman handle. This one's nice and easy cos there's a gap through the handle that the screw goes through to allow you to adjust the gap. On t'other end I've got a loop of bungee tied onto the metal connector where the cable goes into the ballast. As I recall there's a groove cut into the metal which should stop the line slipping off. I then use a double ender through the bungee loop if I need to clip it off upside down. As you'll see from the other thread there's a discussion going on about clips on lights and I'm not sure what the best option is, but Rich mentioned this approach at the DIR gig so I'm giving it a try to see how I get on ![]() If pic's would help I can take some and post for all to tear apart! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have the bungee loop tied on to the metal thingy where the cord meets the ballast. But in general, to attach a bolt snap (or bungee or whatever) to a cord, all you need is to do a few rounds of cave line snugly and it will stay put. That is how I have the bolt snap on my primary reg done. it is fastened to the hose by 3-4 rounds of cave line. it doesn't move by itself... but if you wanted to move it you could. |
