![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | dumping problems with explorer 40 hi im having problems dumping air from my explorer 40 wing, mainly the rear dump. the bladder is not twisted, inflater does not self inflate and the rear dump works fine out of water. i am stuggling in the last 3 to 4m of water even if i add more weight, i have tried rolling over to the right side to get the air to the left side but still no joy- if i make myself vertical i can get air out but not when im horizontal. anyone had the same problem and found the solution. best regards chris |

Also you may need to roll right side up a little, then head up a little, then left side up, Then dump. One other thing to check is that the top of the wing is not being pinched by the regulator setup. HTH J

![]() ![]() | Chris, I found what John says about the direction you pull the string on the dump valve to be important. To overcome that, I just make sure I roll the string in my hand until my fingers are rolled firm up against the valve and then just roll my hand instead of pulling. That way it keep me from pulling in the wrong direction.

I had exactly the same issues when I moved to doubles, and ended up reflexively going for the front dump from 20 feet to the surface.Make sure that you are pulling the string on the rear dump towards the cylinders and not towards you. HTH J After a while of getting comfortable (and the leaning to the side a bit, getting used to shifting the air), it just started getting easier and easier and now I dont even think about it. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | should the wing be in front of the first stage regs or behind them and in front of the cylinder valves. i have up to now had the wing in front of the first stages and the hose running down the back of the wing. regards chris Last edited by Chris L; April 15th, 2006 at 12:27 PM. |
