![]() | masks I have been diving with the SP frameless and thought that it would be my last mask. My eyes have proved me wrong and now I am looking for a dual lens mask so that I can have gauge readers. Has anyone any experience with the Halcyon dual lens, the Seavision Ultra or the Diverite dual lens? I live in a rural area and there are no large LDS in which I can shop. Thanks...... |

He knew all about the optical side of ordering a mask with lenses to my exact prescription in it. No hassle at all - turnaround time about three weeks, cost about £250. I didn't get any choice about the mask (a Typhoon one, don't know the model), but luckily it seems to be pretty good - it's a good fit and has worn well over the last three years. My vision in it is perfect; as good as with my normal glasses, and I have a fairly strong prescription (about -10 dioptres in each eye, quite strong astigmatism too). Try giving your local 'brass plate' optician a call... it might be easier than you'd think to have them sort it out for you.

Aye, there's the rubI've finally found a mask that fits properly. I never really had much trouble, but the Oceanic Shadow Mini is great and I want to stick with it. I use contact lenses that sort out my regular vision but use some little Stick-on lenses in the bottom of the mask for close-up stuff - Gauges, slates etc. These lenses are OK but they're a bit small and can wash out, especially from a spare mask in one's pocket. I'd prefer to get some proper lenses made up that cover the entire bottom of each mask lens and can be permanently cemented into the mask. |
