I understand that you need a small boltsnap on the good man handle and then a small bungie loop tied near the back of the ballast.

The questions I have area

1. With the two connection points, described above, which is used in which scenario.
2. Is there a standard side of the goodman handle to attach the boltsnap - left or right?

Basically the small boltsnap is used when you need to put away your light, this boltsnap holds the lighthead closer to the body and less likely to catch on something. You pretty much only ever do this if the head is turned off, or you need to get rid of the light in a hurry.

The Double ender clipped to the back of the ballast is for when you need to clip off your light but still use it. i.e you need to write in your wetnotes, or you are doing a stage switch. This way the light head points downwards and doesn't blind your team.

Leave that one with me, I've heard reasons for both ways. I'll try and find out what's considered standard at the higher levels.

Put it on the right as the light is in the left hand and the boltsnap is held under the thumb like that.
