| Padawan learner | Wanted - Bargain wing for singles use I currently have a Dive Rite Recwing and it looks like it's a wee bit big for diving singles (What i'm mainly going to be doing). I'm looking to either buy another wing for singles or trade my current wing for a suitable alternative. I have DIR'd this wing as much as possible by replacing the shoulder dump with a plain elbow, removing the gusset control system (Bungee) and taking the knob off the hip dump. Anyone interested or with advice on what to buy then let me know.

| Padawan learner | I did see that and it looks good but i wanted other opinions as well. Also, their site is down so i can't get any further info on it. So far, i think my choices are Agir Brokk Blackbird Halcyon Eclipse Halcyon Pioneer DIRZone Cub Arctic I like the Halcyon ones bacause of their donut shape but is it worth the extra money? Considering that these wings all have 36lb to 40lb of lift is it really worth swapping my Recwing? That has 50lb of lift.

| Jock Exley | I'm assuming you will be doing DIR-F soon and moving towards deeper UK type diving?? If I am right in my assumption, then you will be moving to a twinset pretty soon also! I would be tempted to hang off on the purchase of a replacement single wing, stay with your techwing in the meantime and keep your cash safe for your new twin wing ![]() HTH

| Padawan learner | ok, i'll stick as i am for now. I have not had any problems with this current wing for diving singes, i was just trying to optimise. I will be moving towards doubles soon though and that'll be when i WILL buy a new wing.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Don't be too hastey! The DiveRite Rec Wing is an excellent wing for both singles and twins, and IIRC was what a lot of DIR divers used (modified as you've described) in the UK before others became available. If you're awash with cash then get a new one, but it is a good wing. Janos

Just wait to buy the right double wing. When I started diving doubles, I only use my pioneer on holidays or in the swimming pool. Next week I'm gone try an evolve. Winnie

![]() ![]() | Here is another vote for keeping your wreck wing. It is very versatile when it comes to switching between single tank and a set of light doubles. (double aluminum 80's or even high pressure steels). I actually used one for a couple of years like this before moving up to LP 104's and sitching to A halcyon 70 lb lift wing. Oh and yes I still have it. I still stand by my original statement and it often gets used with students either as singles or light set of doubles. One of the most enduring peices of gear I have ever bought. Good Luck Dive Safe |

I did exactly this with a DiveRite recwing and did Cave 1 with it in the late 90's. It's OK but wouldn't float me and double 104's full of nitrox, so I borrowed a 55lb Halcyon wing.I've still got the recwing and it works fine for 2x12's diving in UK. |
