A 'Deep Sea Diver' is a 'Fiver*' and a 'Sky Rocket' is your pocket.

Regards

Roy

*A 'Fiver' is Five English Pounds Sterling. Just think 8 bucks.

tstonedvr is on a distinguished road

Ya'll (Brits) may drive on the wrong side of the road :D ...but....I like the way you put words together....perhaps someone could put together a cross-reference of words..i.e. you say twinset we say doubles....kit vs. rig etc.

I know, imagine how frustrating it is for us. We give you a perfectly good language and you go and ruin it

I have to confess to actively trying to use some of the favoured US terms for diving equipment. Specifically, I now make a conscious effort to use the word "light" instead of "torch". I do think it sounds better, though I won't admit to it having anything at all to do with trying to explain the contents of my hand luggage to a security official at JFK airport. Not amused at my pulling from my rucksack a 9amp pack for can light which looks like a comedy ACME dynamite stick, his mood took a turn for the worse when I explained it was for a torch. Apparently in US-English, I'd just admitted I was trying to board the plane with a blow-lamp! I was spared the rubber gloves, though it was touch and go for a while...

Great post Joe.

I'm gonna be in for some fun then, taking 6 through on Monday :D

Think I'd better put some KY in the hand luggage then

Cheers

I had trouble too - as did Fraser.

The battery does rather look like a stick of dynamite - and I have a feelling from their reactions that the delrin looks very peculiar on the x-ray machine.

Check in early methinks Phil
