| New Member | Non (yet) DIR Divers Kit Following on from Erics posting re what kit is being used, how about a post where prospective DIR'ers can list their kit with a view to having members advise what could be changed, altered, reconfigured etc..? Something along those lines anyway.. I could start it off as I spent most of yesterday photographing all my kit, listing it and taking serial numbers for insurance purposes, honest guv! ![]() If this is a crap idea, let me know and I'll shut up. ![]() Cheers, Ian

| GUE Instructor Site Admin | Great idea Ian - why don;t you start off on a seperate thread in the DIR F forum and we'll see how it goes. Good posts on kit config will be put in the library...

![]() ![]() | I'd really like to see some of this too. I have bought a twinset from a friend - it isolates and has rigid steel bands. I am hoping to dive it for the first time this weekend at Wraysbury and learn how to close it off. Some advice on what to buy and not to buy before DIR F - perhaps in order of priority would be great. I have scubapro regulators, avanti quatro fins, a trekwing and I use a Vyper computer - I'm not sure any of these are allowed but can't afford to change it all. Where would you start?

Beth, don't panic too much over kit for Fundies, Where would you start? 1. your regs will be fine, you will need a long hose of course. 2. Your Tekwing won't I'm afraid, harness is all wrong (assuming it's the Transplate one). You will find plenty of people to "borrow" a single or twins rig off for the course. Or even a try before you buy ![]() 3. Quatros, hmm IMHO not really because you will struggle to do one of the fin kicks in them. Jetfins or Turtles would be best. Although the GUE site says they should be OK 4. Computers are fine in gauge mode, I use my Vyper that way as does Clare I beleive, great for downloading profiles. As you go further you can thing about bottom timers. Hope that helps a little ? I'll try and post the GUE recommendations for kit for DIR-F, then you can see other stuff you might need to add. Eg Spool , wetnotes and other bits. Edit: Kit Requirements for DIR-F here we go. Best
