"DIR" manifold...

I am shopping around for a decent manifold. Any recommendations other than super expensive Halcyon? Pros, cons?

Hi,

The DIRZONE and AGIR manifolds are the same as the H ones, but a more sensible price.

Same spec of course, dbl o-rings barrel type. But no expensive 'H' on

We have them here http://www.divingniknaks.com/products.php?cat=55 but there must be someone nearer to you I would assume.

Hope that helps

ahar is on a distinguished road

This I suspect is a very stupid question, but do you have to get a manifold that fits to an exact size of the bands that you have or are the manifolds adjustable to fit different variations in twinning band sizes?

.

The manifold needs to be the correct size for the cylinders, then the Isolator coupling in the middle screws in and out (ie shortens & lengthens) to fine tune the size of "the gap" so that there is no stress on the coupling. Once the coupling is adjusted correctly, you tighten the retaining screws to hold it in place. All this makes more sense when you're looking at one! :D

Try Thermo

I use Thermo manifolds. Work just as well as H's, but don't cost as much.

Its better not to have the retainer screws not tightened and let the isolator be able to take an impact and "bend" backwards. It may save the nobb if you hit something really hard.

DJ, does Thermo have a website? I can only find an example in the ScubaToys website

Are you using the older Thermo manifold that was sold by Abysmal?

We sell and service the entire line of Thermo Brand Manifolds. I've been selling thousands of them over the past 5 years without any problems, complaints or service issues. The stuff is bullet proof. You will find them on our website at: http://www.techdivinglimited.com

They are the cleanest and most precision made of all the brands out there. The finish is superb, and the saftey assembly is protected.

Cheers

I just bought another one from http://www.diveriteexpress.com It cost less than $200. You can see them on XS Scuba's web site, http://www.xsscuba.com
