| Custom User Title | Longer tanks, source of bad trim Hi, When i did my tech 1 my instructor had to use some of our tanks which were a set of long 2x12. He commented that he thought they were a little too long and he couldn't get that perfect arch, so he was a little head up. What are your thoughts on that, could the longer tanks cause bad trim or is it just a case of getting used to. Cheers Jonas |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Up until recently I've been using twin Faber 12's and found that early in the dive I was being pushed head down, particularly when descending. I've just rigged up a set of ECS 12 litres which are longer and comfier although they are a couple of Kg lighter than Fabers. I haven't found any problems with trim so far ... but then I've never been very proud of my trim. I think it's as you say - it's a case of getting used to the set up.

I think he has a far more pronounced arch in his trim than most of us, so would be affected by the longer cylinders. When I tried a longer set recently I found that they had more of a tendency to sit on my butt cheeks than a set of Fabers, but it wasn't really a problem. Biggest problem was trying to sit down (out of the water) in them! Fraser.
