| New Member | Halcyon SS inflator I'm rebuilding one of my SS inflators for the first time. Actually, just cleaning it up an lubing it. I have a considerable leak when the power inflator is hooked up. Whether I'm using it or not. No leak on the hose end. How far can you break the inflator down? Is it just a matter unscrewing the power inflation part and lubing the two o-rings or do I need to go a step further? Does the exhaust come apart? ![]() |

Do you have another LP hose? See if the leak follows the hose. If you don't have a second hose try wiggling the hose when it's connected to the male QD. If you hear a change in the leak, it's probably the oring in the end of the female QD on the hose. Good luck, Tobin |

The leak was coming from the male end and the plastic housing. Unscrewed it, cleaned it up with a cue tip, lubed it up, and screwed it back in. No leaks. Good luck, Tobin Not sure why it leaked in the first place. The o-ring looks fine and the fitting didn't seem loose. Thanks guys. I probably could have fixed this during the dive had I a wrench on me. This brings me to another point as to whether it's worth it to carry a small crescent in the cargo pocket. |

I would probably be a lot easier to call the dive if discovering a leak, fix it on the boat and get back in? Wrenches are for people with no alternative, e.g. major deco obligations. I assume that you have the alternative, so minimize your taskloading while underwater and have fun. Cheers Anders |
