Question fins

I use splits at the moment and am looking to get some turtle fins in XL for my propulsion needs. Unfortunatley there seem to be none in stock in the UK anywhere at the moment soooooooo:

1) Anyone got an idea where I can get some turtle fins from in size XL?

2) Anyone got an idea about alternatives to turtle fins......and don't say Jetfins, as I have tried them and they dont fit me at all. Damn them.

Turtles are one size only IIRC. They work out giant though so could be classed as an XL :D

I think if you can't fit an XL Jetfin a Turtle is pretty much your best bet, there is now an XXL Jetfin but frankly the foot pocket is ridiculous. Still, you could buy a pair and if they are too big you could park your car in them

You're right .. they come in as XXL

I've been racking my brains as to where I bought them from and I can't find receipts - I think they were £65 a pair from DirDirect earlier in the year, but I see from the web site that they are now £95, which may be a reflection of "the shortage".

Thinking back, did the company that made Turtle fins go out of business - or be close to it. I seem to recall that Stoney Cove or Hydrotech were trying to get there hands on the rights to manufacture them earlier in the year. Has anybody else heard that?

to be honest I don't like jetfins. I tried the XL and they didn't fit, and the XXL were like canoes. I am the sort of person who does not like making DIY alterations, so being able to make the foot pockets bigger is not for me.

On my DIR-F I tried and liked the turtles, and being big doesn't bother me as I am not exactly small, and they look ok on my canal barge sized feet.

If you don't win the fins that Graham's selling, you could try these ones (nothing to do with me, just passing on what I've seen).
