| New Member | Evolve testing again Just a quick ditty about the Evolve..both Frogman and Myself dived them on the 27th..met up to practise cave skills, Running line etc First impressions that it is infact a very stable wing in the water and it is very easy to get rid of the gas from it and as my usual Heiser cylinders had a mix in them I used a set of Faber 12s which i felt i was getting pushed heads down slightly..Maybe just getting used to the different charateristics of the wing and or different cylinders. But was impressed with not having to roll gas about to dump especially at the shallow depths Andy |

![]() ![]() | I got an Evolve 40 for Christmas and dove it that day and the following day. I use it with double AL 63's (I love my short tanks) and I really don't have anything negative to say about it. Trims out good, dumps easy, comfortable, a little long for my short tanks, but really no more than my Pioneer is. The second day I dove it, I had the feeling of being "head down" or "butt light". I handed one of my buddies my video cam and had him shoot some footage of me so I could see if I was actually head down or not. Everything looked nice and trimmed. So I don't know if it is just the fact that it feels that way because I am so used to how the Explorer feels, or if I am compensating for it without realizing it.

| New Member | yes I agree Hi thats exactly what i was thinking in your second paragraph ..however had no Video camera...hard to be to be critical after two dives Although what I did notice its easier to get off in the water compared to the explorer ie for RIB diving. Andy |

| Jock Exley | I was pretty impressed with the evolve TBH and as Andy says, found it easier to dump without the need to migrate the air across. I'm not sure if it is any more stable in the water, but for the limited time we had to play with it, I'm quite happy with our purchase!

![]() ![]() | Andy, I agree it's hard to be critical about it after only a couple of dives. If that's all we have to go off of though...first impressions are important though. Divers adjust to their equipment rather quickly and then it seems harder to point out the finer details noticed doing a comparrison. So I have no idea what I'll think after several more dives. We are going out the next few days, so I'll get a better idea. My video cam is basically neutral, so it doesn't pull me down in front. I will be diving with video cam, deco bottle and canister light this time. Have a great day

![]() ![]() | Thanks for the kind words Seajay. No problem using the photo. I'm putting together a small clip on this dive and I'll put it up as soon as it's done. Thanks for offering to host it, I've got plenty of space already. Tried to go back and re-shoot this dive this morning, but Mother Nature decided otherwise. ![]()
