jonesor is on a distinguished road

Wanted: Luxfer 7L ALI stage

I'm looking to buy an Ali 7l stage. Ideally I'd like the kind that weigh 8.8kg empty with a 200bar working pressure.

Where's the best (cheapest?) place to get these at the moment?
Or does anyone have one (in test) that they want to sell to me?

Cheers!
Owen

Brian Allen at OE sells them new - but they're now rated at 207bar. The same cylinder used to be 232 bar but a small number of them were failing their first hydro test with neck splitting / cracks so they wound the fill pressures back.

Of the bottles I have (AL40/AL80/ AL78.8kg) - my favourite by a country mile. Mine is one of the older ones that's still rated at 232

I know James the Badger has just completed Tech 1 with Rich Walker and has bought one of these from Brian. I was doing some drills with him last Weds when he used it for the first time - send him a PM - he'll give you his feedback.

They just sit beautifully - you barely notice them and make great cold water Tech 1 bottles and then a good O2 bottle for bigger 60m ish dives as you progress.

Thoroughly recommended - HTH

Moz and I used them on the course with James and I have to agree - you just don't notice them at all and they handle really nicely. We've just done a week in Scapa with them too, can't fault them

About the best deco cylinders there are for shorter dives.. I prefer them to the 5.5l (40cu ft) even though they are larger..

I have 2 - I'm lucky .. I hope they don't fail their next hydro!
