Question DTD gear expirience

Hi all,

Does anyone had any expirience with de divegear from DTD?

It looks good. I'm interested in the reel from them.

See this link: DTD - dive

Cheers,

Ramon.

I bought a single tank wing and alu backplate last year, looks realy nice and also feels very solid. Not so many dives yet so little real experience.

No experience with the reel.

Both my wife and I have the single tank wing from them, and my wife has the 20 liter wing (for her double-12). Although the label says DIR-ZONE, it's the same. We're using it for almost 2 years, no problem. Nice stuff, good brand!

Hi there

The line use on the reels is super high quality braided in fact has a kevlar soul, the others in the market got the classic cheap nylon seine twine.

All my gear is now DTD is a bomb !

best

Hi Nick,

I just ordered the DTD Ring 14 wing for the 12Liters. I should get it on friday. I think they are pretty good. Btw these wings are identical, I think, to Golem wings. Golem wings are much cheaper since they are priced in US Dollars.

Regards,
deepOcean

€270 for a 6mm SS backplate?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

B and me are having them made for €50, add say €70 for H webbing.

trow some profit on it and its still insanely overpriced.

yes but some other items dead cheap

you are having your backplate made by probably some one who does not want to make a living out of it so you cannot compare.

rgds,
jeroen

DIR-Zone is exactly the same stuff as DTD, just rebadged by the importer.

I have quite a bit of DIR-Zone kit, backplate/harness, 2 wings (for single and double tanks), wet-notes.

I've been very happy with their stuff. Never had any problems and I'd certainly buy more from their product range in future.

Bending 6mm SS ain't hobby work

So no, the guy works with steel for a living.

Material is €38, the rest is for him.
But we did get a bargain becuase he thought making dive stuff was cool.

Hi Marjin,

Think you are wrong. I have been manufacturing backplates since 2001 and my costs are always over 50 Eu ex VAT per unit (depending on quantities). Not only the laser cutting and the steel, also the polishing. Polishing a backplate is a handmade work and quite expensive in Europe.

If you go for bigger quantities, stocking is also a cost himself. For sure you know that.

Cheers,
