![]() ![]() ![]() | I saw the 12w version on saturday - although this was in the shop rather than in our typical uk waters - the light was better than my existing LED (similar w equivalent) in both brightness and (apparent) length of beam. GLOC has the 21W, which is on test in Scapa - I will be interested to see his report and pics when he gets back, but I can already feel the urge to part with cash vid |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | They seem to be having a few teething issues with the electronics - but I've looked at one and it is impressive. Whilst it doesn't quite have the "focus" of a HID - the colour temp is great, the compactness of the head is a big plus and in the long term I think this will be the future. Not quite HID - but 80% there. For divers who don't need the focussed beam that we use for signalling - it's probably there now. I still much prefer the way the Halcyon lights connect to the battery inside the cannister with banana connectors. The Anderson jobbies allow the battery to move around in the cannister in transit and after a while it takes its toll on solder connections etc. Our team have been given a 21w LED in a variety of conditions including wreck and cave and we'll stick a report up in due course. A broken wire/connector will be the least of your worries if the light knocks on accidentally in the back of your car. ![]() |

A broken wire/connector will be the least of your worries if the light knocks on accidentally in the back of your car. The Explorer serie NiMH battery packs from Halcyon has 'dummy holes' to the plug banana plugs on the lid into during transportation. So the battery stays put and the light can't fire.![]() Fredrik
