![]() | Homemade Nitrox/Tx Stick Hi, I would like to build a very small (portable) Nitrox/Tx stick in order to be able to mix with a portable compressor on remote locations. Did some of you construct such a small device? If yes do you have some pictures, drawings, advice? Thanks in advance. Kind regards. Cyrille

![]() | I built one for a 3.5cfm compressor, it is about 2.5ft long. If you are going to carry the compressor around, don't make the stick smaller than necessary: compressors don't like to be constricted at the inlet. The rule of thumb is that you should never make the flow area anywhere in the stick smaller than the surface of the compressor's inlet. Also don't inject the oxygen too close from the top of the stick or you will loose some. There is good design and dimensioning information in the latest version of the oxygen hacker book, which is excellent in all regards when it comes to oxygen. So are all his other books: if you order one, just go ahead and buy them all... Last edited by daviddem; April 2nd, 2008 at 05:47 PM. |
