| New Member | TEC 2G and Windows Vista Hi guys and girls, Just upgraded my computer to Windows Vista. All working fine but SmartTRAK, which requires a IR connection to my Aladin TEC 2G to download dives to the new PC. I have spent some time on forums and google trying to find a solution, but it seems that the web is full of questions and no answers... ![]() Also, couldn't find anything on the Scubapro website. Maybe I am incompetent, but hey... what place is best to ask questions than here? I am sure other fellow DIR diver that went through the same pain can give me some help to find the answer. Would appreciate any thoughts and help. All the best, Dan PS - yes Clare, I have searched the forum for previous threads.. ![]() |

![]() | Hi guys and girls, I've been through all this and trust me - it was a barrel of laughs! Providing you've downloaded the very latest version of SmartTRAK (which definately is Vista compatible), the problem is probably being caused by your infrared adaptor. Unless it's specifically designed for Vista or is directly supported by Vista then it probably won't work.Just upgraded my computer to Windows Vista. | GUE Instructor Site Admin | I had this problem. Went to Scubapro who essentially told me I needed a new Infrared adaptor. I bought one and had no more problems but it still cost me another £30 ![]()

![]() | Running Vista and SmartTRAK. Needed to get a IR adaptor and so popped out to Maplins. Bought the cheapest one they had (About £12 IIRC) and everything is running happily. I usually ask in the store if the device is compatible and can I bring it back if not and the answer is usually "yes" so no probs in simply trying out a few.... |
