| GUE Instructor/DIRX Moderator | UK Cylinder Testing Hi All, Does anyone have any suggestions for good places to get a twinset hydro'd? Preferably within spitting distance of Cambridge/london. Also while I'm at it, does anyone have a copy of the IDEST leaflet that was published back when they changed the test intervals. Thanks J |

There's a 30-odd page Q&A style letter to the industry that used to be on the SITA website. Can't see it there any more. If that's the one you meant let me know, I have a saved copy.Joe |

There was some confusion during the changeover but that was all due to utterly ignorant dive shops. The regs were brought into line with every other cylinder out there from CO2 fizzy pop cylinders to welding gas.J Next big change is the one from "competent person" to "approved". And just to let everyone know, IDEST have absolutely no regulatory control and are a commericial company. I get my cylinders tested at www.divequip.co.uk and bloody good (and cheap) he is too. |

Absolutely true, although I'd go as far as to say that IDEST is a SCAM!HSE mandated that all cylinder testing be conducted by UKAS accredited inspection bodies earlier this year. Somehow IDEST managed to overturn this mandate. I'd recommend Amphibian Sports in Norwood. They do it all in-house. Bob |
