Knot Theory

G'day All,

I have tried cable ties to attach a clip to the butt of the light, no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions for tying the clip to the base?

I spent two hours last night and a bottle of red and no luck, nice merlot! It is probably very simple but alas no luck.

Cheers
Dave

The site is great, but I miss a photo. Let me explain: on the last photo, the ends of the line seem to be molten but not welded to the loops (excuse my horrible English, I will try again :-P

The idea is to get a redundant tie off. It is not the same line with three loops and one only final knot; the idea (at least as was taught to me) is to get three independent tie offs. That reason, the end of the line shoud be burn, not to avoid frayd but to be welded on the three loops. If one of the loops or the knot it self breaks, the remaining two loops stay functional.

The explanation on Rich's site is great, but does not merge with the photos (excuse me Rich!) even it seems to be welded on the middle, not on the ends to the three lines:

Probably it would be clear comparing the following photos:
; vs

...First photo flattens on the middle and second one flattens on the ends. For me, it is preferrably the second system, because it welds on the three loops, getting three independent loops:
