DUX v's Halcyon

Hi everyone,

I was hoping to buy a 40lb Evolve wing soon but came across the DUX equipment here Dir-Shop.net - professional diving accessories, Halcyon, DIR diving It looks like it's pretty much the same as the Halcyon gear but can't seem to find much info. / reviews on the net about it. Had a look at their website here DUX DIVING - diving products and to be fair the equipment looks spot on. Has anyone tried it or seen it in the flesh ? Pricing is very good too.

Thanks,

Richie.

There are a couple of threads on DUX here, have a quick search and you will find something, although you will probably have to search using DUX wing as DIRx won't allow you to search to 3 letters.

Thanks Gloc,

I did try searching under DUX... so that's why I didn't get any hits

Thanks again,

Richie.

Try typing 'DUX* site:www.direxplorers.com' into the google search box (without the quotes)

If you want something extremely similar to Halcyon's Evolve 40, check out the Frog Midnight wing too (Frog claims it's a 50lbs wing but the dimensions are almost identical to Evolve 40)...

Frog Midnight double tank wing only, Frog Wings and backplates at divingniknaks 0121 707 5783. Frog, Dirzone, Agir Brokk Scuba Diving Gear

Tried one recently and was very impressed.

Most DUX wings are identical to DTD and Golem wings if I'm not mistaken - the DUX Everes 23 looks like a nice Evolve equivalent.

Hey Richie,

I am sure you are aware of the moral issues surrounding companies that may have simply copied the designs created by others. It's also worth checking out the build quality, as some of these companies use materials that Halcyon discounted on quality grounds.
