Stickers on stages

Sorry I know its probably been done to death but I can't find it.

I bought a second hand newer version Ali7 last year which I have just managed to swap with an older style one but it needed O2 cleaning so it is in the shop.

I would like to go for the minimalist sticker look and have asked them not to re-label the cylinder so I can do it. I know I have to have a VIP sticker which is OK but how do you guys get away with not having a large Nitrox sticker on stages.

I cut down the stickers on my twinset which is sat under the BP.

Does anyone have a picture of what you use please.

Most of my diving doesn't involve stages, but I did take one last week and they are useful for second dives.

Ta.

Nick B has a word file Fiona with a sheet of small VIP stickers on it. None of my stages have a VIP sticker on (just IDEST and O2) and I've never had a problem getting fills. HTH

I know we talked about this last week Howard but I got the impression on Monday I might have a fight on my hands leaving the shop without some labels - isn't there some sort of requirment to have the green and yellow diamonds for transit ?

The only "official" stickers I've got on mine are the small BSAC nitrox stickers (with the diamonds) and an O2 clean.

If some-one wants to put a huge nitrox sticker with their shop name on it I won't argue so long as I get the sponsorship money first.

Cheers

Andy

A cylinder should have a VIP sticker on it - but it doesn't seem to be an issue in most places. Stoney would probably get the arseache - but then then they get it just being asked to fill cylinders

Oh don't get me wrong Andy, he has no problem with me cutting the normal ones down and taking off any reference to the shop, but they would still be quite big.

Just had a look at the BSAC ones any chance you could let me know the dimensions and do you cut them down so you just have the green diamond and the word nitrox.

Sod the BSAC ones they charge £3 postage for a 25p sticker

If you ring BSAC rather than trying to order the stickers online, they should just stick them in an envelope and charge you the postage rather than the standard £3. Or at least they did last time I ordered any.

HTH

The BSAC stickers are fantastic - I use them for twinsets as well. I cut off all extra bits and am left with a sticker which is about 1.5 inches by 1 inch - sits just above the VIP and keeps everyone happy.

Thanks John, I'll give them a ring.

I was trying to avoid applying something this big to a stage.

Same here I think - I'll have to check what I've got on the stage! I definitely removed the huge nitrox stickers from my twins and added some trimmed BSAC stickers which are pretty small. I just snipped off the BSAC logo from the end.

Some places are sensitive to the O2 clean stickers and will refuse to fill if the stickers are readily available on t'internet on the basis that they can't be sure whether the cylinder actually is O2 clean. (Capernwray are pretty strict aren't they Garf )
