Agir Brokk twinning bands Issue

Hi.
I bought some second hand Agir Brokk twinning bands for my MDE manifolded Faber twin 12s. They are the correct (B) size for them but just won't seem to tighten up correctly.
The bottom bands tighten up fine but the top ones leave a slight gap between band and cylinder.
I have swapped the bands around and get the same result on the top
Am I doing something wrong or are my cylinders conical!?

Cheers,

Darren

Regarding the conical bit, the easiest way to prove this (or not) is to take a paper tape measure and measure the circumference at the top and bottom, or just slide the tape measure from bottom to top, it should be the same all the way.

However, I doubt the cylinder is conical as this would infer a manufacture issue. Don't know what to suggest if they are conical!

obvious isn't it?

basically the bands you had fitted before didn't give the same cylinder centre to centre dimension, presumabley slightly less than the agir bands

the bottom band being further away from the "fixed" manifold, is pushing the cylinders apart slightly, but enough so they fit but the top band doesn't

undo the adjuster, fit the bands, tighten adjuster, you'll probably find its only a couple of mm out

Cheers, that sounds about right.

Just to clarify, which is the adjuster?
