Question Help needed fitting Jet Fin spring straps

Hi,

Just bought some Jet Fins and some Halcyon Spring Straps but can't get the original metal buckle off. Have tried everything to no avail. Any help would be greatly appeciated.

Cheers,

Ryan.

Very large pliers - bend it out. Or failing that - do what I did - cut it

Grab the buckle with two pliers and use an opposite twisting motion rather than trying to pull it apart sideways, and it comes off easily.

No such problem with the knock-off jetfin 'style' fins i got. The buckle bent off when i tried to pull the original rubber strap past my heel - I think it was probably made out of old pipe cleaner or something...

Just be careful not to twist a piece of the buckle into the rubber..it can tear slightly.

Junior hacksaw made 'light' work of mine.

Put a bit of gaffer tape on the rubber though to prevent damaging the fin as you saw thru...

the easy way : take a small drill for iron (or similar)
drill the "connection" between the U-shaped part and the straight part.

easy and very accurate without the risk to destroy any other part from your fins
