| Padawan learner | Primary light switch on the inide or outside? Ok, i should know this (I think i do) and i have already tried searching for previous posts but didn't come up with much so i'll ask anyway. Hmmm, why not do it as a poll...

I Always put the switch towards the body. On the halcyon lights this means that if the switch gets knocked by a backup light, the likelyhood is it gets pushed backwards towards the backplate and this turns on the light. I'd not like to be way back in a cave, have to wiggle through a restriction and then have my primary light turn off simply by being knocked by a backup light. Hmmm, why not do it as a poll... | Moderator | The Salvo lights (and I think the new Halcyon ones) have the switch inside a collar so it would be very difficult to knock it. Having the switch on the outside means it's easier to switch on and off yourself.

Yep and with the switch on the outside the light cord then runs v. slightly closer against the body in the area where you can't see it making it less likely to catch on anything.

| wet behind the ears | Chris LM insisted on having the switch on the inside for Cave1. 1) To keep it from getting bumped off as mentioned. 2) Also allows the cord to be a bit less kinked up in your armpit. I have always done it this way (diverite light BTW) Richard |

| Padawan learner | ooh, split about 50/50. I wasn't expecting that. I was under the inpression that the switch was against the body but couldn't really remember why.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Is this split anything to do with cave vs ocean diving? From my fundamentals class, i'd always thought most had switch outside.
