Which Apeks XTX reg?

Hi,

Does anyone know which one of the new Apeks XTX regulators is approved for DIR diving. I have the feeling that it's only the XTX 40 and 50 but can't find anything about the XTX100 or 200...

David

If DIRDirect (Link) are anything to go by then the XTX50 and 40 are the preferred options with DS4 1st stages - though I cannot imagine that using the XTX200 or 100 2nd stages would be a problem..

All mine are XTX 40's, can't see why you would want anything more than this or the XTX 50.

Spend the extra money on something else.

Hi,

the XTX200 has a removable high pressure seat which could be handy if you do your own servicing.

Cheers,

Mark.

hey mate,

I'm running the 50's. Not sure if they're "DIR approved" as such but they're good to go.

Cheers,

Jeremy.

Xtx 50

I recently got myself another deco-/ stage reg, my first XTX50. Before that I've only used ATX40. In many ways it's same same but there is one thing that I don't like with the XTX regs. If you will use them on stage- or deco bottles the new and larger exhaust piece will be a little bit in the way when the reg is not in use. It's not a very big thing but a little bit anoying compared to the ATX regs.

I never saw anything in the 100's and 200's.
The DS4 and ATX50 have been proven.

What, by the way is the XTX? I never got around to looking at it actually.

What the diff

Hiya Ahmed the xtx difference is the hose can come from either side left or right. Also have the option of changing the exhaust T smaller or larger.
Why u would need any of this is beyond me u can still get Atx 50 that is what i use got one online a month ago so still in stock.

Like someone said the large exhaust T makes the 2nd stage hard to stow on deco tanks.

All on their webiste:

The XTX 1st stage (DST and DS4) now has 4 identical 3/8 UNF LP ports rather than 3 and 1 x 1/2 UNF as was previously the case on the ATX.

I believe the XTX 2nd stage is a tad smaller and lighter, and the reason for an interchangeable exhaust is for exactly the reason you've given. On your main reg you use the wider tee so your exhaust bubbles clear your mask well but should you wish to use it as your backup or on your deco tank, you use the short tee which makes the unit much more compact and esily stowable.

I don't believe that the internal gubbins has changed.
