![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Removing a SiTech autodump valve Hi all, Is there any special knack to removing a SiTech dump valve? Or do you just need hands like torque wrenches? Help appreciated before I break something - either me or the valve, whichever gives first. Cheers Jen |

![]() | Protec did one for me the other day, they used two special plastic rings, one for each side of the dump. There didn't seem to be any special knack to it other than the sheer force that would be needed if you didn't have those ujimaflips. I heard mention something that made me think they might screw the "wrong" way, although I can't be even 50% sure on that. Sorry I couldn't help more. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi all, I'm sure there's a special tool that fits on the inside of the valve (into some holes I think) to allow you to get a grip on that bit. Then from what I remember you need to push the external part of the valve down as though manually dumping gas and twist the two in opposite directions. Is there any special knack to removing a SiTech dump valve? Or do you just need hands like torque wrenches? It may well be sealed/glued in place - I had to use some silicone sealant around mine to stop it leaking so mine will be a bugger to remove as well ![]() |

| New Member | Apparently there is a special tool, however sometimes they also aquasure them in, at least Otter do. I recently removed a SiTech valve without any tools and it just involved brute force and determination. I think there may have been some glue / aquasure in there too (it is an Otter suit).the SiTech was leaky and I had a new (Apeks) one to put in its place so I was not too bothered about applying too much force..... |
