Really clear uncluttered display. However its not a computer. Is it true that DIR teaches you really fast ways to calculate that stuff in your head? Do DIR guys still use computers?

Daniel.

There are plans for the newer version to be user programmable. There will be a development kit so that third parties can write software for it i.e. deco software to turn it into a mixed gas computer.

Any idea if older versions will be upgradeable? i.e. can I buy one now as a gauge and flash upgrade it later?

Daniel.

I was very keen untill being told that the rechargable battery is not replaceable infact if anything goes wrong with the unit after the one year warantee period even they can not take it apart to fix it.

does that mean they just glue the thing together ?

I doubt that is correct..you wouldn't make a disposable product in that price range...okay maybe that's something that a Republican goverment would approve..but for the rest of us

I'm not sure but I don't think it can be upgraded. Check with Eric at Liquivision though.

To be fair, it was not designed for scuba diving. It was designed for logging very deep free dives so would be unlikely to get the hammering that dive kit gets.

Eric has been very good in listening to divers on Rebreather World where he has been discussing the unit's development so I'd be surprised if the new version wasn't more diver friendly.

I see the dry humor in your political post.

It will be interesting to see this dive computer once it is in production.
