| New Member | Righto, Following my lamenting of the UPS delivery service on the phone to my fiance, the UPS man delivered my new DUI suit about 20 mins ago (5 mins after the phone call ). It's a signature series cave cut TLS 350.So....first impressions. Firstly it's a very neat suit in all respects. Silver overlay on black, heavy duty latex seals, DUI pockets and turbo soles. It's very much made to fit someone of more modest sizing, hence my interest in the suit. I tried it on with my slightly baggy 400 thinsulate and all seems very good. It's a bugger to get my head through the neck seal but that's the price for having it fit so well when it's on. Once on, I couldn't find any movement restrictions at all. So having pranced about the house wearing it ( ) and looking in lots of mirrors it's time for me to go diving. Hopefully it'll all play as well in the water as it does when admiring yourself in the mirror. One question I have for people is to do with undersuits for use with it. My current 400 is good under it but I'd prefer something less bulky. Given that we're approaching winter I would like to get something that will suit the cooler climes of gildy and stoney. I was thinking Arctics with some other base layer and dry gloves might give me that extra bit of warmth to keep the diving comfy. Any other suggestions? PS: I might have a Polar Bears Explorer suit for sale in the near future depending on whether I can stuff enough thermals under this one for diving in the winter.

Any other suggestions? there's a balancing act between bulk / loft / cold. you can find less bulky undersuits (by which i presume you mean thickness of material), but then you need to fill them with air to keep warm - such as a weezle otherwise it's lots of thin layers, which add up to overall bulk the alternatvie is to add some bioprene and just wear a vest vid |

| New Member | The problem with a cave cut suit is that there isn't a lot of slack for bioprene that gets added later I was thinking that Arctics with another thermal layer and maybe a bodywarmer type layer might do for winter plus adding dry gloves to keep hand heat loss down.

I can definitely recommend dry gloves, I haven't looked back since switching (but I seem to feel the cold).I'd be interested how the arctics and base layer compared to your 400g tho - I've been thinking about getting a Santi 400 or Xerotherm Arctics for winter instead of my current Xerotherm base + RoHo thermocline cos I definitely get cold with those. |

| Sorry for being a dick | i'm in a similar situation and have been told that one set of arctics for summer use and add another set of arctics on top for winter use. How long till we see pictures?

Two sets? Is it actually possible to move when wearing 2 sets of arctics?!I must admit I haven't tried, but I'd have thought they were a bit too thick to keep much mobility in 2 sets... |

| New Member | I need to play around with the whole tinypic hosting thing to get an image on here. The only one I have so far is the one of the previous owner wearing it so will have to get a few taken of me in it. Re: double layered arctics you could get one medium and one large surely.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well I wear a 400 year round with a xerotherm top and drybase shorts. I change out the xerotherm top for an artic top in winter. It depends on the length of your dives and how much you feel the cold. Cheers Al |

Jason, How long till we see pictures? I would be surprised if you could move with two sets on.. You might have read two sets of xerotherms - one artic and one standard - which is a popular mix for the winter waters..
