Since I am now the proud owner of a very slightly 2nd hand 21W Salvo I though I'd just check how people tend to store theirs between dive trips.

Disconnecting the battery is an obvious one, but do you store it with the canister lid locked down or is it better not to keep the o-ring compressed when not in use?

I have read that it's better NOT to store it closed. I store mine open on the counter in my laundry room, with the batteries on the charger.

The counter in my laundry room happens to be right next to my computer, so I can cast fond looks at the light as I am typing

I have seen a few stored in a cheap tool box just big enough for canister with batteries inside it. and the light head stored in bubble wrap. but the lid is NOT on the canister.

I store mine (and I have the identical one to you but the the EKPP head) battery in the canister, lid off, all in a Tescos laptop case with my digi camera, O2 analyser and Salvo charger.

Some people like to store the canister with the lid closed, but the o-ring removed (just put it in the canister). However, you do need to remember to put it back in before diving!
I remember GaryB discovered that with his old Salvo a few weeks back in the sea - that was a tough lesson to learn!
Best,
John.
