![]() | Heser backup led head upgrade I don't suppose if anyone knows if these little puppies will fit straight into the scount body without any hiccups? Obviously, heard a lot of good things about the Heser's themselves but would rather not have to ditch the scouts completely! Many thanks |

| Gadevang Underwater Explorers | it works perfectly with the solaris, so I guess that it will work with the scout too

Think it was about £60 though? They are up. You can find it at:Joe http://www.deepstop.de/catalog/produ...35&language=en I checked posibility of upgrading my solaris with both Deepstop.de and Heser and they agreed it was Ok, although guy from Heser expresed some worries about cooling and batteries efficiency. |

![]() | As far as I saw, Heser Backups got a inner alloy shaft which conducts the heat of the LED (yes, they heat up too!) down to the batteries. So the LED is cooled and the batteries are warmed up. This provides longer lifetime to both parts. Did Karl (I suppose you spoke to himself, Karl Heser) say anything about if and - if yes - how much LED's lifetime is decreased by upgrading a solaris or scout? |

Karl told me that maybe this could affect LED lifetime but he wasn't able to estimate how much. The batteries are probably less efficient but I don't see this as a problem for my dives. Hans (deepstop.de) told me that he didn't notice LED cooling problem with underwater use.Did Karl (I suppose you spoke to himself, Karl Heser) say anything about if and - if yes - how much LED's lifetime is decreased by upgrading a solaris or scout? |
