More new toys for me.

I am now the proud owner of a TLS350 as seen is this thread. In the end the temptation of a bargain was just too much for me.

The suit mostly looks ok, the material and seams look alright and the neckseal is fine but the wrist seals either need to be patched up or refitted. They are new seals but the fabric is creased under the seal creating a little fold there air can leak out (Auto cuff-dump? ). The only other thing is the braces are coming a little unstitched where they attach to the suit.

I was going to get a shop to replace the wrist seals but after having a little look at how the seals were fitted to the suit i found that they were not attached too well. After just 2 minutes, i managed to remove the seals intact from the suit by just peeling them off (No idea what glue was used). I'll pick up some decent glue whilst i'm in Portland and have a bash at doing this myself (Any reccomendations for glue?).

Ok, now i have to start looking for an undersuit that'll be appropriate. Will Xerotherm Arctics be ok do you rekon or am i better going with a more traditional undersuit like the Santi or similar?

Here is a little pic of me in the suit. Sorry for the
poor quality but it's from a mobile phone rather than a proper camera.

Now, what else?

Well i'm off to Portland tomorrow where the girlfriend will be getting me a weighted single tank adaptor and i'm borrowing Skipper's 18w Helios 13.5 for the weekend as a try before you buy.

My AOW is booked and due to go ahead in 2 weeks time.

It's all go for me.

Congratulations mate - from what I can see it looks like a pretty good fit - is it? Looking forward to more dives sometime soon!

well that's with a thin t-shirt and trousers that have no real thickness. Once i have an undersuit on it should be pretty well fitting, yeah.

Could have done with another inch in the sleeves though. That's my monkey arms. I think i had some slack to pull them down though.

Well done J on getting a bargain, now you have more cash to buy a can light I have both the arctics and the base layer which i wear in winter and just the base in summer and have been very comfy and warm but try out a few if possible and see what you find to be the most comfortable.

Well done J it looks cool and if you've been following the JJ threads elsewhere - it would appear that yellow is the new black dude! Get yourself some Beaver fin retainers for the turbo soles - they work great at keeping air out, stopping the fins wearing the neoprene and holding the straps in place. I love my TLS - so much freedom of movement in the body and feet. Take care of it though - they don't take "punishment" and abrasion like some other suits.
