Hi,

we'll go to Scapa Flow in October and plan to make our own mixes up there. Helium and Oxygen will be delivered from Eberdeen, so they'll come with english standard valves (bullnose it's called?)

So we're looking for some adapters which will fit bullnose on the one side and DIN 5/8'' (200 or 300 bar doesn't matter) on the other side. Does anybody know were we could get this stuff?

Thanks and regards
Niko

www.rebreatherspares.co.uk sell an adapter (part #AP56D200) but I don't know if DIR divers are allowed to buy from there

Sub Aqua Products or AP Valves will also sell them.

As an aside, which boat are you on?

I kno some boats aren't very tolerant of turning up with your own gas, some mates tried this recently and were told not to bother.

This is where they will make some profit, making the boats profitable enough to run, might be worth thinking about before transporting gas a fair old distance!

If you're personally taking it from Aberdeen it might be worth checking with the ferry company as they have made statements in the past about asking for tanks to be empty, and I don't think they'd like J cylinders too much.

Hope this helps. Don't want you to spend a lot of money on gas and not be able to use it.

Digs.

Sure, but our skipper is briefed about our own gas and agrees to this. Maybe he doesn't like to have to fill 20 Stages every evening.

The tanks will be delivered from Aberdeen to Kirkwall. Hope our service provider knows about the ferry company's concerns.

@ lizardland
Thanks, found it. I won't tell them about my assimilation...
