Protecting Contents Gauges

I seem to be pretty good breaking these - having killed two this season. One was because it was on a hose which was FAR too long, and was my own silly fault as i dropped the heisers on it and crunch, one knackered gauge. The other was a mystery, left the cylinders to get filled on board the boat, came back to find it broken. No idea how it happend, but obviously something heavy came into conact with it.

So, to prevent this happening again, i got some cheapo plastic lidded boxes from Ikea - you get three of them for about £1.50. If you cut a hose sized U shaped hole in the end of the box along the top rim, you can protect the gauge with it by clipping the box on and off. The other two, one is just the right size for your computer and compass, the final one is useful for car keys and glasses.

See, i do have my uses. :D

Surely that's got to be a real PITA opening the lid every time you want to check your gas. Not to mention a serious rule 6 violation when it looks like you've taken your sandwiches on a big cave push
