Most will know about my crusade on YD about Miflex so I am not going to go into detail here apart from to say that Saturday saw my FORTH HP Miflex HP hose go pop (on a 21m stage bottle).

I know, I know, I should have swapped them out long ago......more fool me for not doing so.

There are a couple on here who saw the offending hose and who may (or may not) comment; but this is it -

It is the First incarnation (design) without the strain relief. If you have these on your kit please think about swapping them out.

I find it mildly amusing that having followed your posts you created enough doubt in my mind that I swapped mine out

You want some spares to replace the ones that have burst?

I saw it, I laughed, I almost swallowed my mouthpiece.
I've rarely seen such a complete and utter....want of sympathy. It was very amusing.

I would say Vobster quay has never witness such vulgarity coming from Graham after the incident happen, but this would not be true as Howard was their that day aswell

Hows that Dive Rite hose doing BTW ?

Yeah, but since they always break, and only under pressure - does that make you a S T R O K E for using them?
There is no such thing as DIR JUNK, it's either DIR or it's junk.

Using the first one was brave, using others after the first one died was stupidity! Nothing DIR in what you did.

Michael

I appreciate your sentiments Micheal, however, if nobody tried new products then we would all still be using ABLJ's and calling them "DIR".

Miflex HP hoses were, to me, particularly attractive on stage bottles due to their flexibility and ability to be bent back onto the first stage far easier than the rubber hoses.

We now know different. Does that make me a S T R O K E? I don't think so as I could say the same for several items of Halcyon kit that I have seen fail...should I (and everyone else) stop using Halcyon gear because an item has failed? I think not. However, when a design fault is identified and it continues to be a failure then that is a different matter altogether.

When Graham surfaced after his epic push on Vobster A Tunnel on Saturday - even the farm animals in the fields surrounding the quarry were pissing themselves laughing

What are those black things on the hose?

I have to say, looking at the photo that looks like a very poor quality hose fitting. I've not seen one of these close up before.
