![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | fundamentals: rec vs tec Hi, I will be taking my fundies at the end of May. I would like to know how easy it will be to change a rec pass to a tec pass. Would this involve just a dive with an instructor like with a provisional pass? Thx. |

Doing that would have filled the gap that myself and the rest of my triox class experienced in between single-tank fundies and going into triox in doubles. I have no idea what the policies are going to be though...I will be taking my fundies at the end of May. I would like to know how easy it will be to change a rec pass to a tec pass. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Most likely you will have to do two days of skills and diving with the tech gear and the drills associated to the tech level. Techniques like doubles, manifold, primary light, backup lights, valve drills using primary light etc will be preformed. All skills also will have to meet the “tech bar” including the back kick and team ascents. Information regarding this will be posted as soon as we are done with all the paperworkJ Take care, Richard Lundgren |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | From your answers I seem to conclude that I should go straight to doubles. I will have to work out how to organise the logistics for this .At the moment I am diving with a Pioneer. I borrow single tanks (or ALU80 stages) from people, as I do not own my own tank. From what I read here I should look around or a double wing and get practicing with it, after talking people in to lending me double sets (As I am buying a light very soon, and then this double wing, double tanks will probably be stretching the budget a bit). Any Evolve-convert perhaps selling there old Eclipse for a good price? :D |

I just do not understand why they insist on giving all their wings names with an "E". Far to confusing. And I was planning to go for a 40 lb. That should be sufficient for quite some time. |
