![]() | Calculating Average Depth? I see references to Average depth in calculations but I do not see how they arrived at the Average depth. Is it a calculation or just half of the Max depth? Henry PS Thanks for all replies on Finning- Practice does make it come together... |

Don't know about anyone else but I just guesstimate the average depth, when surfacing I often check on the PC and it is always within 0-3m which in deco terms is neither here or there.Henry If we monitor the usual time, depth, gas....etc every few mins then it is pretty easy. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Basic Average = Add up the number of values. Then divide by that number of values to get your average. Record depth at pre determined intervals, add up results and divide by the number of intervals. 5 minutes 150 feet 10 minutes 165 feet 15 minutes 155 feet 20 minutes 150 feet 620 / 4 = 155 feet rough but useful. This helps give you a good mental log at key points in the dive. |

![]() ![]() | I love his avatar, I saw it in I believe it was frogkick's DIR vs DIW ad believe me the DIW was absolutely hilarious. Hmmm lets see if I clip a lamn chair off to my helmet I can tie it to the line and maintain my deco stops. LMAO. :D Oh as for average depth we pretty much estimate it. My computer takes 60 sec samples and I use that to figure out my average depth during the dive |
