| Chimp 4 | To Reel or not to reel.. .. that is my question.. I have a spool and a few different type of smb. fine. no problem with that. Can I have a clarification on what type of reel people use and when they use them.. I find links that seem to contradict each other.. some say you can use a reel with an smb, some say spool only. some mention floaty line, some mention heavy line.. from what I have gleaned: normally bag gets sent up from 21m upon gas switch (if a deco dive) otherwise shallower. reels are used as they are in caves, to lay a line from the shot - for example. I guess what I am looking for is: the accepted make(s) of primary reel and when it is used.. thanks in advance..

These are used to Lay line into any overhead environments. They can be used for DSMB use, but we normally try to avoid it. If you can send a blob up with a spool, you should manage it with one of the above reels but since none of them have ratchets you need to be very carefull to lock the screw down if you ever want to let it go. The Primary reels we do are the Salvo reel, http://www.divingniknaks.com/proddet...rod=30.100.400 Similar in operation to the Pathfinder, DIRZONE only do the Pathfinder (I have one here if you want).

| Resident purveyor of shiney kit.... | John you may have missed Janos's recent twitchy escapade (told on another board). So yes Janos , in poor viz. (But I'd go with John, why not call it ?)

You see things that you wouldn't ordinarily see, since you're no longer looking at the big picture. So yes Janos , in poor viz. (But I'd go with John, why not call it ?) However, that shouldn't stop you looking where you are going, or marking where you have come from ![]() dan (the other half of Janos' twitchy escapade) |
