FAO Vid/Crispy Fiver - Valve Drill

As promised, gentlemen. However, please note that the general agreement is that you should practice basic bouyancy skills, and not get involved in the specifics of skills like this one, so use this at your own risk!

First the serious bit.....what happens to your longhose reg between unclip and purge and grasp next to second stage?

Left hanging or held by right hand which is also holding the torch. If the latter how do you do that?

I remembering Clare mentioning this and I kind of wrapped a finger around the hose whilst holding the ballast of the light. She explained Al, I think it was (forgive me if I have this wrong) holds the light by the cable....but I recall feeling clumsy doing it.

Second...the not so serious bit....I chuckled that you have to remind yourself to reach back to turn off the valves

Regards
Mal

Vid/Crispy,
If you chaps want to meet up sometime for a dive to see it in action I'm sure we can arrange something.

....I'm talking about the finning action, not the drill mind

PS. The bit Garf has missed from the description is that throughout the drill your team will be furiously practicing their back kicks :D

you're quite right, I shall post a fuller, more realistic valve drill up here in a little while.

I think you'll find this interesting http://www.extreme-exposure.com/ediver/Feb_2006.pdf check out valve drills contained within. I think I know what your trying to do Garf but I think you're thinking too much - practice until you don't have to think (I think that could be too many thinks :D )

I have never seen anybody holding the cord during drills - sounds like a CF since there is no way to signal. Be careful who you get advice off...

I was asked simply for the drill i used to practice with before fundies, and that's exactly what I posted. It did, however, come with a disclaimer
