| GUE Instructor Site Admin | Gainsville 19 October - 8th November As it says on the thread title - I'm going to be in Florida for the above time period (well I actually go there earlier but will be shaking hands with Mickey Mouse until 18th.) I want to be near High Springs for a while and then Gainsville for the GUE conference and need accomodation for this period. I'm told that Gainsville is a better bet as there are more places to eat. Any suggestions? Cheap suits me given the length of stay, drying facilities even better. Anyone on here with accomodation that they rent out or suggestions for a good place to stay.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i stayed with StaceyS last trip to High Springs. She's in Ft White, about 5 min drive from EE and 30 min from Gainvesville. for me, it was perfectly comfortably and convenient. plus, she's a really good cave diver. |

| Resident purveyor of shiney kit.... | Claire there's a Motel opposite Salvo (can't remember the name sorry), it gets used by divers a lot. Straight opposite is a great place to eat, just a cpl of doors up from Salvo and it's only a 5 minute walk into the metropolis. Mail Corey at Salvo, he'll give you the numbers and names and stuff. Just avoid the meatloaf it doesn't go well with New Year's Galaxy dives ... ![]() Otherwise there's also the Cadillac next to Floyd's and the cute the Rustic Inn ... It's really nice Breakfast was 3$ last year http://www.rusticinn.net/. Call in advance, Tom, the owner does not like "surprise" venues. But he will give you a good rate if you call in advance and say you're a cave diver. Cheers

| Doing It Caverkevin | Just a word of warning!!! I like Floyd's, beware of the meat loaf. Only time I been sick under water. It was from eating the meat loaf. Nothing like getting violently ill at the park bench to really freak you dive buddies out. Since I am planning on being the general area now. Looking at going to the GUE event. Looking forward to putting faces together with names. Cheers!!! Kevin |
