![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It may well be that the CDAA have negotiated access with landowners. In the UK the CDG negotiates access arrangements with many private site owners so thereby you have to be a member to gain access. This is more than just a qualification/training issue, membership includes liability insurance which a lot of private site owners ask for. It also ensures an element of control over who is diving there, many sites can be quite sensitive and cannot support too many divers visiting (commercial showcaves, drinking water resources, agricultural land, some fragile features, etc) Perhaps this is a similar situation to the CDAA?

KamykKamyk ![]() Special training IS REQUIRED for your own safety. In many countries there is no formal requirement to be cave cerified In some countries its not allowed at all, or restricted with environment protection laws Another issue is insurance and liability cover.... There is nobody to check your certifications at the entrance gate. It doesn't mean that you don't need cave training.

Hi, But in South Australia most cave site are owned by someone :D I know its dodgy but, look better than nothing !! While you with CDAA, there is a memebership to be paid every year $80US. And that allow CDAA to make diving sites better, for divers: platforms etc ... and that's fair enought. When most caves are own by landowner's, thats good that the allow us divers to use them ... its very kind from them !! kamyk
