I'm very pleased to announce that the UK now has an official GUE Facility.

Underwater Explorers in Portland has recently been awarded the status of GUE Dive Centre.

This reflects the long standing relationship that UE has had with the GUE community, and will be used to promote the broader goals of GUE, along with the usual GUE educational programme. You can read more about the facility programme here: GUE Facilities | Global Underwater Explorers

Expect to see GUE training, official GUE projects, presentations and social events, all available for you as a diver to participate, contribute and enjoy!

If you need more in formation, then just give UE a call or an email and they will be happy to help you.

I hope to see some of you there soon!

Rich
GUE UK Training Director

Congratulations to Dave and Liisa Wallace, Nina, Ben and the GUE instructors for all thier hard work and becoming the first U.K GUE facility and hopefully we may see more of these established throughout the U.K, from personal experience they have a very good setup for training and education at Underwater Explorers.

Liisa will become famous soon enough

Thank you for all the nice comments. Ever since Underwater Explorers hosted the very first UK GUE course in 2003 (on which I was a student) we have tried to support GUE both within the UK and globally, either by financial sponsorship or by fostering dialogue with the UK diving community.

We're very pleased to have become a GUE facility and I hope that this will enable more people to see what GUE has to offer and to decide for themselves whether it's for them.

On a personal note, with close to 2000 dives in a quarter-century of diving, having trained with half a dozen agencies I can say that GUE courses have been the most interesting, challenging and fun, and have delivered the best learning and value for money. After each course I am ever more enthused about diving, I simply love the lack of hassle on dives, and I start looking forward to the next level of training...

...and in fact I'm presently placing another ream of paper in the printer for my Cave 2 course reading (it's handy that I have a few months to get through them..)

Regards
Liisa
