Some changes....

Today marks the start of a few changes on DIR Explorers which will be running over the next few weeks. New advertisers coming on board, new membership options, new functionality - and perhaps more importantly some attention to fix the things which are not working at present and improve access.

One thing that people have asked for, above all others, is a PDA version of the site to access whilst traveling. This was our first priority and has been actioned today - if this is of interest to you then log in from your PDA and then, by scrolling to the bottom of any page, you can change the style selected from DIRX to PDA. Many thanks to GLOC and Jay on Yorkshire Divers for helping us with this.

We've created a subscription link on the front page for those of you wishing to help us by supporting the board with a contribution towards our hosting costs. Our advertisers are very generous in their day to day support, and as such I hope that you will support them, but personal contributions from members who value the board are especially gratefully received. Supporters gain a few small perks to say thank you

If a subscription is not for you, then paypal donations towards the board's costs are welcome. donate@direxplorers.com works for Paypal.

There is quite a bit of work still to be done which we'll get around to as fast as we can - but suggestions from each of you out there as to new forums/functionality that you think would benefit the board would be gratefully received. Post here or PM our new webmaster

Best wishes and safe diving to you all.

Who is the new webmaster?

Thanks for putting the PDA bits in place, I was driving home this evening and wondered where you had got to on that?

That'll speed things up a bit - but having had a play is it possible to have a "first unread" button/link on threads on the PDA version? It's a bit of a pain to have to start on post #1 and try to work out which page you've read up to on some threads...
