The DIRX Awards 2007

Apparently us chimps are supposed to be doing the Jonathan Rossy bits in between the serious grown up talks at the DIRX meal this year and we thought a few lighthearted awards would be fun.

Please send me your norminations by PM for the following:

- Quote Of The Year - Written Or Verbal

- The Bend A Friend Award - Potted your buddy? Haha -lets hear all about it

- The "Thing You Do With Cats & That Old People Get" Of The Year Award - Shop your mates less than DIR antics

- Hair Splitter Of The Year Award - The intellectual cut and thust of your burn
testing buddies

All contributions will be treated in strictest confidence

Prizes will be drawn from the new Gavin Leisurewear Collection that George doesn't even know he's launching yet!

Excellent news Howard, glad my nudging worked!

I nominate....for 75m on air and a single deco gas...if only the story were true

If you have photographic or video evidence of these 'crimes' then all the better.

Oh come on - 75m on air with a deco gas - what a wuss

I am not proud but I did that on a single tank, no deco gas at manado and in PNG about 10 years ago I did have a long hose and wing though and thought I was well hard!

Deco gas is for whimps - back gas and a good old exponential curve!

I remember the days when 12m was considered a deepstop after a 60+m dive on air ...

I also remember stumbling on GF stops and discussing it with my buddy (we were using proplanner with Pyle stops) - he dismissed it as too complicated

Other favourites - decoing out hanging (lying back and snoozing of course) on a bag in twin 15s and two 7L stages all steel in a wetsuitand sinking too 30+ on 80% before I realised what was going on ... luckily I had a 100lb life raft with super rapid inflator to sort the problem

Three-four years ago guy from Croatia did this in Egypt (unintentionaly). Actualy, it was 90m on single AL80 filled with 1st class Hurghada air. Luckily, after few days in the pot he was ok.

What we are looking for are notable events this year that we can tell a little story about and then present a (humourous and probably embarrasing) trophy for
