When I finally *groan* get our new gallery working (after working out how to upgrade the forums without breaking the DB) then I can set it up so we can host / stream videos....

But it is some extra work - now I am happy to do it - if we think it will be used and worthwhile....

So Yay or Nay?

Will your bandwidth/costs support it?

If so, then why not? You might want to think about some user limits too?

*shrugs* if bandwidth goes up then hopefully users do - then hopefully more benefical to sponsors so we get more cash...

The old build it and they will come has always been my approach to web sites.

Why not let youtube or google video provide the hosting and just have a section where people can link to their videos there? IIRC they even provide code sniplets to embed the video (i.e. flash) objects into your own html. The result can be seen here for example.

I say yes, BUT not if it holds up the Gallery.

I mean with our poise, grace and perfect trim any video is going to look much like a still anyway
