| Jock Exley | Bad news! I was sent an email earlier today from a board member and friend and thought you guys might like to know of this --------------------------------- Hi – sadly I just want to let you know that Jack Purcell had a serious diving accident in Spain very recently. My understanding is that he felt unwell at his 6M stop after a 40M dive, signalled this to his buddy and then had to be rescued back onto the boat missing 5 mins of deco. For whatever reason or combination of factors Jack was left unable to move from the neck down &, obviously, had to undergo extensive chamber treatment in Spain before being flown by air ambulance back to Dublin. Currently JP is in the Mater hospital in Dublin & undergoing extensive chamber treatment. Movement has returned from the chest up and very partial movement from the chest down but he is, as yet, unable to walk. I spoke to him on his mobile on Saturday evening & he seems in good spirits but he faces a long road to recovery. While he is a way from his email presently, I’m sure some emails wishing him well would cheer him up (when he eventually picks up the messages) as would a call or text message (he is allowed to use his mobile in the hospital). You can contact Jack on jack@dublinbaydiving.com (00)+353 874147726 Sorry to have to tell you all this
