The following day we had a planned ropes off of 11:15 to the same area as conditions the day before were excellent. Unfortunately this departure meant that Iain was going to have to knock the trip on the head as he had to drive all the way back to Glasgow to start a shift at 07:00! Iain, top tips, look at the tide times before committing to a 900-mile round trip and you might get 2 dives in!!
Badger, two words:
Bite. Me.
Actually, the round trip was worth it for the LH Carl - probably the best mix dive I've done so far. Not sure what you guys did to silt out the swim-through - Greg and I had already been through it, leaving it in pristine condition. With your Cave 1 precision skills, I guess we know who to blame...
And now, the deeply ironic part:
When someone suggested that the way out of my travel problems was to pull a sneaky sicky on Monday, I was sorely tempted. Unfortunately, it's just not the done thing to shaft one's colleagues like that in medicine. So, tragically, I did the honourable thing and headed north as the others headed out to sea.
Once home, I "trashbagged" my mix into storage cylinders and did some nitrox blending, while waiting for my wife to get home back from visiting friends. Dinner was a take-away...which resulted in us spending the night taking turns to dash to the loo...
So, after all that, I didn't make it in to work on Monday. What is it they say? No good deed goes unpunished!
Not. Bloody. Happy.
