Hey guys,

Looking at HIDs , can anybody outline the pros/cons between having the ballast located in the cannister versus having it in the light head as illustrated by the differences between the Salvo Rebel and Havoc lights ? Is it simply a question of personal preference and weighting of the head or are there any technical advantages or disadvantages? If located in the cannister presumably the ballast is protected in the event of flooding the cord - is this not so if located in the light head?

I've used a the 'standard version' with the ballast in the light head but it always felt a little in the way when it came to doing anything where i needed two hands, despite the Goodman handle.

Tah,

Dave
Can't use EO-cords with the balast in the pot.
And although Salvo is using the disign, i'm not entirely comfortable with high-voltage running through a pretty thin cable (might be bs, but its a feeling).
