| We had a student in Tokyo get a torn neck seal as we were about to enter the water for the experience portion of a Tech 1 class. As it was a fixed latex seal he couldn't swap it out so he tried to tape it up with duct tape.
Needless to say, that didn't work very well and I imagine he was quite cold in the 63 degree water. I heard he had a second suit shipped to him from his home overnight in time for the second day's dives.
This was the day I had to use helium as a suit-inflation gas (forgot to get an argon bottle). Er, really bad idea...
But you've gotta try everything once to say you did, right?
