Why? Is the LED Scout a lesser quality product?

I did a search on the new Scout LEDs and didn't find any opinions. Are they as good as they look or not?

I have a pair of standard Halogen Scouts - is the upgrade kit worth the money? I often use them as primary lights in shallow waters where a can is too much of a pain.

Halogen or LED? Worth the money for the upgrade kit if the LEDs are better?
