| I used gators for about 1 year with my old drysuit as it was just too baggy in the lower leg area. They made a massive difference to my comfort during ascents.
I don't really recall having problems with trapped gas in in my feet. During ascent, I would occasionally stretch out my legs and then pivot my body up to release the gas in the foot / lower leg area, no problem.
Give them a try and see how you get on. As with almost everything, it takes practice.
